Mike has served as the pastor of church planting and leadership development at The Summit Church in Raleigh-Durham, N.C. since 2008. During that time, the Summit has planted 32 churches in the U.S. and launched the Summit Network as part of a vision to plant 1,000 churches in this generation. Mike received his B.S. from the University of Texas in Biology (certainly putting that degree to good use) and spent time as a missionary in Taiwan before earning his M.Div. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston. Mike met his wife, Jamie, on a short-term mission trip to Southeast Asia (the perfect first date spot), and they were married in 2011. Mike and Jamie have two daughters, Madelyn and Amelia. Mike directs the vision and strategy of Summit Network and serves as the primary instructor of the church planting residency.
Matt has been at The Summit Church for nine years since his days at UNC-Chapel Hill. He served for four years on staff with Campus Outreach Raleigh, a college ministry in the Triangle, overseeing staff development and student mobilization. Matt now oversees recruitment and assessment of prospective church planting residents. He met his wife, Lindsey, at the Summit where she works as a video producer and photographer. Matt enjoys reading, exploring new restaurants, and making wild assumptions about people based on their Myers-Briggs.
Megan grew up in Greenville, S.C., and graduated from North Greenville University with a degree in English. In 2016, she moved to the triangle to pursue an M.Div. in Christian Leadership at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. In years past, she has worked as a youth intern and children’s director–all reminding her that she is passionate about training and equipping women to utilize their gifts and strengths in the local church. Megan serves as the administrator to the Summit Network.
