People are moving to metro regions at a faster rate than they ever have.  If you live in or near a city you can attest to this – it seems like every time I go out of town I come home to a new neighborhood or retail development.  Downtown offers a buzzing social scene & the chance to fast track your career – a compelling option for a young professional.  The greater metro area combines access to high-level professional opportunities with a strong support system for families (schools, sports, cultural experiences, infrastructure).  The result?  Cities are quickly becoming the cultural & population centers of North America.

Cities Matter To God

That reality should stir any follower of Christ, because cities are full of people and people matter to God.  As Tim Keller puts it “In cities, you have more image of God per square inch than anywhere else in the world.”  Simply put – Cities Matter.  Which is why we focus our church planting efforts on strategic cities across North America.  This year we’re privileged to help plant or replant seven churches in cities across North America – Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Orlando, Atlanta, Denver, Winston-Salem & Charleston.  Our prayer is that these churches will join in what God is already doing in those cities to see disciple making movements occur.

Do Cities Matter To You?

It’s interesting to remember that Christianity has urban roots.  Cities were the first place Christ in his sovereignty decided to establish his church.  As the world urbanizes we  believe Christ is interested in doing so once again.   We’re looking for called & qualified men to plant gospel-centered, multiplying churches in strategic cities across North America.  Does that sound like you?  Do you love the culture & diversity of cities?  Does your heart break for the millions of metro dwellers across North America that are separated from Christ?  If so we’d love to connect with you, you can learn more by visiting TheSummitNetwork.com/#plant.
